- Gather and document requirements through client stakeholder interviews, working sessions, and reviews of existing documentation
- Write user stories with clear acceptance criteria and keep them current in Jira
- Work with senior BAs and product owners to refine and prioritize the backlog
- Track requirements from intake through development and testing so nothing gets lost
- Learn and break down the client’s core business processes – often analytical in nature – that help run the business. This includes key reporting, core system process enhancements, KPI calculations, and data handoffs
- Find pain points, manual workarounds, data quality gaps, and chances to simplify or automate
- Help shape solution options and recommend improvements with the data and BI teams
- Map current-state and future-state workflows using process flows and swimlane diagrams

- Quickly build a working knowledge of each client’s data landscape: source systems, pipelines, the data warehouse, and reporting layers
- Document data definitions, business rules, source-to-target mappings, and data dictionaries
- Write basic SQL queries to explore data, validate requirements, and support testing
- Review, troubleshoot, or build basic Power BI reports and DAX measures to understand how metrics are calculated and shown
- Create low-fidelity wireframes so stakeholders agree on a design before development starts
- Help create the BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, process maps, data mappings, and test cases that development and business teams rely on
- Support UAT by drafting test scenarios, coordinating testers, and logging and tracking defects
- Take part in sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, and retrospectives
- Help break epics into stories and size work with the delivery team
- Support quarterly and roadmap planning by organizing requirements, dependencies, and priorities
- Represent Kaizen professionally with client teams and build strong working relationships
- Keep the Kaizen engagement lead updated on progress, risks, and scope questions
- Follow Kaizen delivery standards and contribute to internal templates, best practices, and knowledge sharing
- Pick up new client environments, tools, and business domains quickly as engagements change
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Analytics, or a related field
- 1 to 3 years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or a related role
- Basic understanding of data concepts such as tables, joins, data models, and metrics
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to turn unclear input into clear, structured requirements
- Clear, confident communication with both business and technical audiences
- Curiosity about how the business runs and how data supports decisions
- Interest in consulting and comfort working across different clients, industries, and team setups
